In her first year as the athletic trainer for the UIC soccer team is Kristi Schluckbier.

Schluckbier comes to UIC after serving as an athletic trainer at Loyola since 2005. There she worked with the men’s soccer, softball and women’s volleyball teams for the Ramblers.

Her athletic training career began while she was an undergraduate student at Western Michigan, where she served as a student athletic trainer from 2001-2005. Schluckbier worked with a variety of Bronco teams, including the men’s soccer, baseball, football, women’s indoor track and women’s volleyball squads. She also spent the spring of 2005 as a student athletic trainer for Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Mich., working with the men’s and women’s basketball, softball and baseball teams there.

Schluckbier graduated from Western Michigan with a bachelor of science in athletic training in 2005. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration at UIC.

Schluckbier, who currently resides in Chicago’s Wrigleyville neighborhood, is a certified athletic trainer with an Illinois license and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association. She is also certified in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer with the American Red Cross.
